We Bangaloreans love to eat. We love our food, their food, everybody’s food. And so we embrace world cuisine like no other place. But what we love more is to eat between our meals. Yes, a grub or two are always welcome.

So here’s a list of the newest places for short eats and casual diners around town:

Onesta - Delicious gourmet pizzas

A pizza lover’s haven, Onesta is the closest to what an authentic Italian pizzeria in Bangalore would be.  Red wooden doors, potted plants and an indoor-outdoor seating overlooking the oven brings a slice of Italy right down here. On the menu, there’s pizza, bread and bite sized desserts. As simple as that. The fresh bread is baked every day and served with a deliciously seasoned butter (that you can’t help asking extra helpings of). And the home style pizzas are served on wooden pans, smeared with olive oil and baked to perfection.  On a lazy sunny afternoon or dusky evening visit, the place will quite impress you, leaving you with a thought to be back soon.

San Churro Café - Chow down on churros

As a Spanish inspired Chocoleteria, the café specializes in in-house churros made right in front of you. Apart from churros, they have quite a range of sinful hot chocolate (a rare find in our city). Apart from being a chocoholic’s paradise, they have a range of spice ridden dishes too - thin crust pizzas, burgers and some of the best nachos in town. Pleasant news for South Bangaloreans, right? (Wait till you read the next.)

Krazzy Folds - Food from Japan to Jamaica

This is another saviour for South Bangaloreans. Tucked away in the buzzing Jayanagar, Krazzy Folds offers handpicked favourites from global cuisine. Their cheeky menu spells Mexican Tacos, Japanese Okonomiyakis (pancakes), Jamacian rice and much more with a twist of their own. An open kitchen, quirky walls and the chef’s personal attention to each table keep the atmosphere as lively as the neighbourhood. Most importantly, scrumptious dishes served up with utmost care to presentation (a surprise for their price backet) will win you over and how.
