Photographs are dear to all. Most of us want pictures taken, to preserve our memories. We believe a photo book has a timeless quality to it. How often do you sit in front of a screen and look at your pictures, as against the power of a photo book to transport you back down memory lane? Thankfully, there are photographers who think like us.

We teamed up with Canvera, who put us on to these top photographers, who share their views about why their customers have invested in a photo book.

Photo books versus Virtual

It is hard to classify what kind of people order photo books, but 70% of our clients order them. That was how it has always been done! Hard copies of pictures used to be how people from the extended family or guests would get to see photographs from an event. Today, though there are password-protected photo galleries with easy-to-share links, it is a different feeling to see photographs in print. Flipping through the pages of a photo book, seeing the event unfold like a story each time one goes through them, is being recognised by many for the special feeling that it offers. For this very reason, people order photo books even today, in spite of virtual albums and what not.

Digital albums are still part of the virtual world. Just like a Kindle can never replace the feeling of holding a book in your hands, a digital album is never going to bring the same emotion as holding a photo album in your hands will.

Photo books versus Virtual

Most customers ask for a photo book. It's the best way to preserve and showcase those precious memories for a long time. Even though we have digital photo books available (soft copies), they still cannot replace the beautiful feeling of holding and seeing the photographs in a hard copy photo book. Clients invest in a good photo book because the final output of photos really matter. You might have the best photos, but a bad quality photo book can ruin it. Canvera provides a link to an online photo book, which is really handy since you can share it with anyone who has access to internet through a computer or a mobile.

Photo books versus Virtual

Digital photos can never be compared with preserving memories in book. Digital files can be deleted or lost, unless they're backed up in multiple locations, while it's difficult to lose or misplace a physical album. The joy of seeing your photos in print with your family around you, reliving those moments, is something beautiful, and so it is always recommended that important events in one's life be preserved in print.

Although most things are digital these days, a large number of people still order photo books. But, the thing about photography is the final outcome of any photograph is the way it is printed. So, no matter how digitally dependent we become, the final print is the only way you can tell how good the photographs really are.

Photo books versus Virtual

Usually, people who prefer to secure their memories order a photo book. Undoubtedly, this is a digital age but, you would agree that data is not safe enough. There is a good chance that you might just lose that data. Whereas, photo books are a safer option and they last for lifetime. So, definitely photo books still have that edge over digital data.

Sree Vikash Production

Vikash says, "Most photo book orders are for weddings, 20% are for birthdays, pre wedding parties, and house warmings. It depends on how important the occasion is to the customer. There are those who paid more for the photo-books as opposed to what they paid for the services provided."

Photo books versus Virtual

Most wedding parties ask for photo-books, and not just for 1 but, 2 or 3 copies at least.

Having a digital copy is good, but there are drawbacks in our digital age. It's always possible that the file might get deleted or corrupted or the hard disk might crash and it won't be that presentable compared to a photo-book. A photo-book has its own advantage, memories get preserved for a life time and it's very presentable too. It's like the photographs come to life when we see it in print.

People who look at preserving their memories for a lifetime, generally order photo books. Photo books allow them to record memories of special moments. The moments that were created, have personal investment in, and therefore they have special meaning.
